T-Mobile in the UK was originally known as One 2 One, and even before that as Mercury One 2 One. T-Mobile took over when One 2 One was in its final days of being operated as a joint venture between Cable and Wireless and Mediaone Group, which had a number of investments in Britain. T-Mobile is now owned and operated as a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom.

TMobile was the world's first GSM 1800 networks back in September 1993. It wasn’t until 2003 that they launched their 3G services allowing for high speed mobile broadband connections and other 3G services.

As a UK mobile telecoms provider they offer a familiar range of products in comparison to the other operators. This includes both pay-as-you-go and pay-monthly contract phones as well as mobile broadband, and now mobile broadband with a FREE laptop.

For a long time TMobile was one of the UK’s smallest mobile operators however T-Mobile has now overtaken Orange is believed to have the third largest user base behind market leader O2 and Vodafone. This is due in part to the mobile virtual network operators using T-Mobile's infrastructure and network.
